Master Gardener Tours -
2009
The Master Gardeners of the Tanana Valley hold garden tours each summer
during the months of June, July and August. We are always on the look-out
for gardeners who will show off their gardens for a few hours on a specified
day. Any member may nominate a garden, either their own or another's.
Read the requirements below, then click here to nominate a "tour site" by
clicking the envelope at the bottom of the page. Later, as the tours shape
up, we will be publishing their details on this page. Do remember, however,
that only members and their guests can "take the tours."
- Gardens are expected to be a work in progress - they do NOT need to be
perfect, weed-free, or even "finished."
- Variety is desirable. We are looking for (but not limited to) any of
these (or any combination thereof)
- Greenhouses, row covers, high tunnels
- CSA's
- Large scale gardens (as in farms)
- Fruit trees or berry bushes or canes
- Orchards of any kind
- Rock Gardens
- Water features
- Vegetable gardens
- Herb gardens
- Flower gardens (perennial or annual or a mixture)
- Composting, mulching, or fertilizing projects
- Worm farms
- Gardening Innovations
- Plant Protection - from moose fences to vole barriers
- Organic solutions
- Lawns and groundcovers
- Weed Control projects
- Trees or bushes
- Pruning of trees or bushes
- Bulbs, corms, tubers
- Anything else that might interest a gardener, such as outdoor rooms,
arbors, or creative design.
